Standardized Metrics

SMART Benchmarking participants submit monthly equipment data which are converted to standardized data and metrics.

The raw data are kept strictly anonymous. Participants can view summary performance metrics to compare their production equipment operations against other companies with the same make and model equipment.

Web Reporting

Using an interactive web interface, participants can view comparative reports and graphs. The results can be exported to Adobe PDF and to Microsoft Excel.

SMART - Surface Mining Association for Research and Technology

SMART is an association of surface mining companies formed in 1995 to develop a coordinated approach to technology development for the mining industry. The benchmarking project is an example that supports information sharing between mines, locally and internationally, and that can be used to benchmark operational and maintenance productivity and to identify the best mining and maintenance practices to increase productivity.
